PRJ4: PowerPoint Picture Disappears When Project Re-opened

SYMPTOMS

When you embed a Microsoft PowerPoint 4.0 file into a Microsoft Project file, the picture may disappear when the project file is saved and re- opened. This occurs when you use the SelectAll edit feature in PowerPoint to choose more than one object.


RESOLUTION

For better performance, copy a slide graphic from Microsoft PowerPoint 4.0 instead of copying the objects. To copy a Microsoft PowerPoint slide as a graphic into Microsoft Project, follow these steps:

  1. In Microsoft PowerPoint 4.0, click Slide Sorter View on the View menu.


  2. Select the desired slide and click Copy on the Edit menu.


  3. Open a project file and click Paste on the Edit menu.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
