WD: No Browse Button in Word 7.0 Style Gallery

SYMPTOMS

There is no Browse button in the Style Gallery in Word versions 7.x. In contrast, Word version 6.0 includes a Browse button in the Style Gallery; when you click the Browse button, you can select a different template folder. (To locate the Style Gallery dialog box, click Style Gallery on the Format menu.)

WORKAROUND

Before going to the Style Gallery, first modify the path for the user templates or workgroup templates by doing the following:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click the File Locations tab.
  3. Under File Types, click User Templates or Workgroup Templates.
  4. Click the Modify button. In the Modify Location dialog box, select the folder that contains your templates.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
