Cannot Write/Edit Visual Basic for Applications Code in Binder

SUMMARY

If you are using Microsoft Excel in a Microsoft Binder section, you will be unable to access Visual Basic modules. That is, you cannot write or edit Visual Basic code when you access Microsoft Excel in a Binder section. In addition, you cannot add a Microsoft Excel section to a Binder if a module sheet is the active sheet. Also, note that Microsoft Excel Auto_Open sub procedures are inactive in Microsoft Binder.

To write or edit Visual Basic for Applications code, use the following steps to view the Microsoft Excel section outside of the Binder:

  1. On the Section menu, click View Outside.
  2. Edit the Visual Basic for Applications module.
  3. Hide the module sheet or switch to a worksheet in the workbook.
  4. Quit the outside view and return to the Binder.
If a module is active when you close the file, the following message is displayed:
Cannot close a document Object with a module active. Please switch to
another sheet in the workbook.
