The information in this article applies to:

    • Microsoft Access version 7.0

    SYMPTOMS

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

The Format Painter appears on several toolbars where it seems inappropriate even though the feature is disabled. Because the Format Painter enables you to copy the appearance of one control to another in Design view, it is available on the Form Design and Report Design toolbars. However, it also appears, disabled, on the following toolbars:

       Database
       Relationships
       Table Design
       Table Datasheet
       Query Design
       Query Datasheet
       Form view
       Filter/Sort
       Macro

    CAUSE

The Format Painter appears on most toolbars to provide consistency with other Microsoft Office programs.

    STATUS

    This behavior is by design.
