SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel for Windows, if you are using PC-NFS version 5.0 real-
mode drivers, and you attempt to create a reference in a Visual Basic
module (on the Tools menu, click References), you may receive the following
error message:
Path Not Found Error 76
CAUSE
This problem occurs because PC-NFS version 5.0 real mode drivers remap the
local hard disk such that "C" is no longer a valid drive (they convert the
C drive into a network resource). The problem with this remapping is that
the pointers in the registration database point to C, and, because of the
remapping, the applications are unable to find a C drive when they are run.
The PC-NFS drivers are then unable to handle the request for the necessary
files.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, upgrade to either of the following drivers:
- PC-NFS version 5.1a or later
-or-
- PC-NFS Pro version 1.1 or later
