  • Any version of Microsoft Excel is running as the foreground program in Windows 95. -and-

  • The low-power standby mode for the monitor is invoked. -and-

  • You are not using a screen saver.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, run a screen saver program. To run a screen saver program, use the following steps:

  1. On the taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Display icon.
  3. Click the Screen Saver tab.
  4. Select one of the screen savers from the Screen Saver box.
This will ensure that a screen saver is run before the low-power standby and shut off monitor modes are invoked.
