PRJ4: "File Is Damaged" Error Opening Project 4.0 File |
Q136157
In Microsoft Project, when you open a file that was saved in Microsoft Project version 4.0, you may receive the following error message:
File is damaged.
This problem occurs when you open a Microsoft Project version 4.0 file that
has been sent and updated using the Task Request feature if you delete and
then add a large number of rows (for example 90 rows) to the project.
For example, in Microsoft Project version 4.0, if you send a task request
for the Myprject.mpp file, and you update the project based on the task
request reply, if you delete and then add 90 rows to your project, you
receive the "File is damaged" error message when you open Myprject.mpp in
Microsoft Project.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
