----------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher for Windows, versions 2.0 and 2.0a - Microsoft Publisher for Windows 95, version 3.0 ----------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== When you print to a wide-carriage printer using a paper of a size that is wider than it is tall, the orientation will change so that the document prints with the narrow dimension as the leading edge. This will usually result in a landscape print of the document. CAUSE ===== This behavior is by design. RESOLUTION ========== There are three possible workarounds for this behavior. However, the workarounds may apply only to particular printer drivers and should not be considered as comprehensive fixes for this issue on all printer models. Method 1: Change the page size: a. On the Page menu, click Page Setup. b. Change the page size to a size that is longer than it is wide (for example, if the page is 13-by-11 inches, change it to 13- by-26 inches). Method 2: On the Layout menu, click Layout Guides and ensure that the layout guides reflect the true dimensions of the paper. Method 3: Manually alter your layout on the page so that it fits within the new margins created by the layout guides. MORE INFORMATION ================ Additional adjustment may be needed with some printers to correct for unprintable regions along margins.
