SYMPTOMS
========
If a Microsoft Excel object that is linked to a Publisher publication is
changed from being a manual link to an automatic link, you may receive the
following error message in Microsoft Excel when you try to edit the file
that is the source of the link:
Can't Open Printer Driver
This error message appears if you change the target printer for the
publication and delete or rename the old target printer before you change
the link from manual to automatic.
NOTE: This problem does not occur with linked objects from Microsoft Word.
CAUSE
=====
When you change a link from manual to automatic, Microsoft Excel checks the
connection to the printer driver. Since the printer driver doesn't exist
anymore, you get the error message.
RESOLUTION
==========
After you change a link from manual to automatic, but before you try to
edit the linked Microsoft Excel file, click Print Setup on the File menu
and choose the desired target printer.
