OLE Link Destination Not Updated After Change Source

SYMPTOMS

When you change the source of an OLE link in a project file, the information in the destination object is not automatically updated.


WORKAROUND

When you edit an OLE link, Microsoft Project updates the link but it does not force an update of the visible information. To force Microsoft Project to update the visible information, follow these steps:

  1. On the Edit menu, click Links.


  2. Select the link to be updated.


  3. Click Update Now.


  4. Click Close.


The information at the destination will be updated to that of the source described in its link.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
