WD6X: Error or Hang Converting Document from ClarisWorks 2.1 |
Q136511
In Microsoft Word, when you open a document that was originally created in ClarisWorks 2.1 and then saved in either Microsoft Word 4.0 or Microsoft Works 2.0 format, you may receive the following error message
where <file name> is the name of your document.Word cannot open the document <file name>
This error may occur when ClarisWorks writes an invalid font table when saving in either of these two formats. This results in Word not being able to interpret the file format. This may also occur if a font on the system under which the document was exported is corrupted.
To work around this problem, save the document in ClarisWorks 2.1 in one of the following formats, and then open it in Word 6.0:
Microsoft Word for Windows
Microsoft Word 3.0
MacWrite II*
Plain Text
RTF
Text
WordPerfect 2.0*
