XL: Color Palettes Change for Multiple Windows

Last reviewed: April 15, 1997
Article ID: Q136735
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 5.0, 5.0a
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 5.0, 5.0c
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0
  • Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows

SYMPTOMS

When you use one of the versions of Microsoft Excel listed at the beginning of this article, custom color palettes do not appear to work properly with multiple windows of the same file. When you customize the color palette associated with a workbook and open a new window(s) and save it, and then reopen it, only one of the workspaces has the custom colors. The other window(s) will have the Microsoft Excel default color that is located in the same position as the custom on the color palette.
