These symptoms occur if Microsoft Exchange is not installed on your computer (even if Microsoft Mail IS installed on your computer). The Microsoft Mail button on the Microsoft Toolbar is designed to start Microsoft Exchange (a 32-bit mail program), not Microsoft Mail (a 16- bit mail program).

WORKAROUND

In Microsoft Project ONLY, to run Microsoft Mail from the Microsoft Mail button, do the following:

  1. Press and hold down the CTRL Key, and click the Microsoft Mail button.
  2. In the Command box, change the text that appears from the following

    AppExecute Command:="Exchng32.exe"

    to:

    AppExecute Command:="MSMail.exe"

  3. Click OK.
