SUMMARY

When you create a new Word Processor document in Works versions 4.0, 4.0a, 4.5, or 4.5a for Windows 95, Works creates the document with a header and footer that you are unable to remove. Works sets the header and footer size to either the margin size located in Page Setup, or to the point size of the font, whichever is larger.

MORE INFORMATION

To reduce the header to the smallest size allowable, do the following:

  1. Click the cursor in the header area.
  2. Change the font size to 4. This is the minimum font size allowed by Works.

NOTE: In most cases the number 4 is not listed in the Font Size list, so you must type in the number 4.
  3. On the File menu, click Page Setup.
  4. Click the Margins tab.
  5. Set the top margin to zero and click OK.
Works takes into account the nonprintable region of a printer. This information is supplied to Works by the printer driver, and may vary for each printer. In the From Edge section of the Page Setup dialog box, the value for the Header margin and Footer margin are the actual nonprintable regions of the printer driver.
