INF: SetWarnings Action Overrides Save Argument

    Article ID: Q137120
    Creation Date: 20-SEP-1995
    Revision Date: 01-DEC-1996

The information in this article applies to:

    • Microsoft Access versions 7.0, 97

    SUMMARY

Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

When you set the WarningsOn argument of the SetWarnings action to No in a macro, it bypasses the Save argument of a Close action and forces the object to be saved automatically.

    MORE INFORMATION

The Save argument of the Close action has three settings:

    • Prompt Prompt the user whether or not to save the object before
                  closing.

    • Yes Save and close the object without prompting.
    • No Close the object without saving it.

The default setting for the Save argument of the Close action is Prompt.

If you set the WarningsOn argument of the SetWarnings action to No, the Save argument on the Close action is overridden. No prompt dialog box is displayed; the object is automatically saved.
