Works 95: Communications Module Hangs Trying to Receive File

SYMPTOMS

When you try to transfer a file in the Communications module, you experience some of the following symptoms:

Works stops responding (hangs).
You receive and Invalid Page Fault message.
The screen display is corrupted.

This behavior occurs if the directory for receiving a file in the Communications module is set to a floppy drive.

RESOLUTION

Do not set the Receive directory to a floppy drive. Set the Receive directory to a directory on the hard disk and then copy your transferred files to the floppy drive.

To change the Receive directory in a Works communications file, do the following:

On the Settings menu, click Transfer.
Click Directory and select the desired directory on the hard disk.
