SYMPTOMS

If you perform an administrative setup of Works for Windows 95 on a local computer, and you then attempt to run a workstation installation on the same computer (so that the administrative and workstation installations are on the same computer), you receive the following error message:

Setup cannot find the file <path>SETUP.TDF. Abort:Retry:Ignore

To set up Works on the local machine, use one of the following methods:

Method 1

Perform the administrative setup to the local computer.
Run Setup from the disks or compact disc.

This will create a local installation of Works that is not associated with the administrative installation.

Method 2

When you perform the administrative installation, install to another computer over the network rather than to the local computer.
Connect to the remote computer and run the Setup from the Works folder.
