------------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher for Windows, versions 2.0a, 2.0a - Microsoft Office for Windows 95, version 7.0 - Microsoft Windows 95 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== When you try to use ClipArt Gallery 2.0 to insert CGM images, you may receive the following error message: Unable to find a filter to match CAUSE ===== ClipArt Gallery 2.0 requires the filter Cgmimp32.flt to import CGM files. Office version 7.0 for Windows 95 does not install this filter by default during a Typical installation. STATUS ====== Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. RESOLUTION ========== To install the 32-bit CGM filter from Office for Windows 95, do the following: 1. Click the Windows Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 3. Click the Install/Uninstall tab, and select "MS Office" from the list of programs to be removed. 4. Click the Add/Remove button to start Microsoft Office for Windows 95 Setup. 5. In Office Setup, click the Add/Remove button again. 6. Select the Converters, Filters, and Data Access box, then click the Change Option button. 7. Click Graphics/filters and click the Change Option button. 8. Select Computer Graphics Metafile Import and click OK. Click OK again. 9. In the Maintenance Window, choose Continue. Setup will install the filter. 10. Exit Maintenance Setup mode.
