The information in this article applies to:

    • Microsoft Exchange MS-DOS client, version 4.0
    • Microsoft Exchange Windows client, version 4.0
    • Microsoft Exchange Windows NT client, version 4.0
    • Microsoft Exchange Windows 95 client, version 4.0
    • Microsoft Windows 95

    SYMPTOMS

Only one Deleted Items folder is emptied when Empty The 'Deleted Items' Folder Upon Exiting is enabled.

    CAUSE

When you have multiple personal folders, each personal folder file (PST) has a Deleted Items folder. You might expect these Deleted Items folders to be deleted upon exiting as well, if Empty The 'Deleted Items' Folder Upon Exiting is enabled. However, only the Deleted Items folder located in the PST to which mail is delivered is deleted upon exiting.

    This is by product design.
