SYMPTOMS
========

If you receive this error message when trying to launch WordArt in
Microsoft Publisher for Windows 95:

   Publisher cannot launch or communicate with the OLE server
   program needed to complete this task.

   There may not be enough disk space, or there may be a problem with
   the server program. To make more disk space available, delete some
   unneeded files on your hard disk. If you suspect a problem with
   the server program, try reinstalling it. Then try this task again.

If you install Microsoft Office for Windows, version 4.2x or 4.3x, after
you install Publisher for Windows 95, you may find that the Microsoft
WordArt 3.0 entry has been removed from the list of Object Types in the
Insert Objects dialog box and replaced by an entry for Microsoft WordArt
2.0.

CAUSE
=====

Publisher for Windows 95 Setup installs WordArt 3.0, a 32-bit application.
Office 4.2x or 4.3x Setup installs WordArt 2.0, a 16-bit application.
Office Setup changes the registration of WordArt objects from WordArt 3.0
to WordArt 2.0 and effectively merges some key information in the registry
which is why you are not able to start WordArt.

RESOLUTION
==========

1. Locate the file Wrdart32.exe. By default, this file is located in a
   folder called:

      C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Wordart

2. Double-click this file. You will see the following message:

      WordArt may only be used to embed objects. It must be started
      from within another application.

3. Click OK.

the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
