SYMPTOMS

When you run the Setup program for one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive the following error messages:
The Version of Jet is Not Valid

[Error while configuring ODBC drivers!]
The configuration of the ODBC Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) driver failed.

Microsoft Office was not completed successfully.

CAUSE

These error messages appear because incorrect versions of MSJT3032.DLL and ODBCJT32.DLL are installed in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM or C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory. The error messages occur at the end of Setup when the Jet engine (MSJT3032.DLL) is attempting to configure ODBC data sources. You receive these error messages if ODBCJT32.DLL (version 2.99.1721) and MSJT3032.DLL (version 3.00.xxxx.) are both installed on your computer.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, rename the MSJT3032.DLL and ODBCJT32.DLL files and run the appropriate Setup program again. This installs the updated versions of the MSJT3032.DLL and ODBCJT32.DLL files and allows you to complete Setup.
