SYMPTOMS
After installing Works 4.0, 4.5, or 4.5a over an existing installation of
Works 3.0, you may receive the following error message when trying to open
the tutorial "Introducing Works":
The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'Introducing
Works.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is
properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try
again.
RESOLUTION
To access the Works 4.0 tutorial, use the "Introduction to Microsoft
Works 4.0" (or 4.5 or 4.5a) icon, not "Introducing Works." If you insert
the Works 3.0 compact disc into the drive, the "Introducing Works"
tutorial runs successfully.
