PRJ: Resource Names Not Updated in Workgroup Message

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Workgroup features in Microsoft Project, clicking the Resource Assignment button does not update the Resource Names field when you add a resource.

NOTE: The Resource Names field is not a default field in the workgroup messages. Resource Names is added manually via the Workgroup customization feature

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Resource Names field in the TeamAssign dialog box is initialized when the dialog box is opened. Note that the Resource Names field is not synchronized with the To field (which is updated).

WORKAROUND

Click the Send button when the message is ready to be distributed. Clicking Send forces an update of the Resource Name field and distributes the message properly.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
