PUB3: Illegal Operation Error Importing Micrographx Draw Files

SYMPTOMS
========

If you try to import a .drw file created in Micrographx Windows Draw
version 3.1 into Publisher for Windows 95, you may receive the following
error message:

   This application has performed an illegal instruction and will be
   shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

If you click the Details button, you will get the following additional
information:

   MSPUB caused an invalid page fault in module DRWIMP32.FLT at
   0137:1c013c40.

CAUSE
=====

The Micrographx filter that ships with Publisher for Windows 95 and Office
for Windows 95 can't correctly import certain .drw files created in Windows
Draw 3.1. Files created in other versions of Windows Draw or other
Micrographx products import correctly.

NOTE: The same files that fail to import into Microsoft Publisher will also
fail to import into Microsoft Word for Windows 95, version 7.0.

RESOLUTION
==========

If you have a .drw file that exhibits this problem, open the file in
Micrographx Draw and export it in another format.
