To use the PivotTable Wizard in Microsoft Access 7.0 or 97, you must have Microsoft Excel 7.0 or 97 installed on your computer.

The PivotTable Wizard will not work with any version of Microsoft Excel earlier than version 7.0. If the PivotTable Wizard cannot find Microsoft Excel 7.0 or 97 on your computer, you will receive one of the following messages:

    In Microsoft Access 97 using Microsoft Excel 97:

       The PivotTable Wizard can't find Microsoft Excel 95 or Microsoft
       Excel 97 installed on your system. This is required to create a
       PivotTable.

    In Microsoft Access 7.0 using Microsoft Excel 7.0:

       The PivotTable Wizard can't find Microsoft Excel 7.0 installed
       on your system. This is required to create a PivotTable.
