Publisher 95: Gap Between Bitmap and Frame on the Screen
Publisher 95: Gap Between Bitmap and Frame on the Screen
Q138098
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Publisher for Windows 95, version 3.0
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
SYMPTOMS
========
If you import a bitmapped (paint-type) image and rotate it, there may
appear to be a gap between the edge of the graphic and the edge of the
picture frame. This gap is a display symptom only; the graphic should print
correctly.
The size and position of the gap will change depending on the angle of
rotation, the scale percentage of the picture, and the zoom percentage.
CAUSE
=====
Whenever you view a bitmap at other than 100 percent (full size), Publisher
has to either interpolate or remove pixels. On a fairly low-resolution
device (such as a computer monitor) this can cause a gap to appear between
the edge of the scaled bitmap and the frame that contains it.
RESOLUTION
==========
The higher the screen resolution you can run, the less noticeable this
effect is on the screen. NOTE: The graphic should print correctly in all
cases.
STATUS
======
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
