• Microsoft Project for Windows, versions 3.0, 3.0a, 4.0

SYMPTOMS

If you attempt to print a document from Microsoft Project using version 1.2 of the IBM LP4037 5E printer driver, you will receive a general protection (GP) fault and you will be unable to print.

This also applies to a problem with printing under Project 4.0 with the IBM LP 4037 with driver 1.42. The error message received is, General Printer Error when trying to print.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the following steps:

1. On the File menu, click Print, and then click Printer.
   
   A list of Printers will be displayed.



2. Select the IBM LP4037 5E printer and click Setup.
   
   You may receive the following error message:




For most printers, this command controls default printer settings for all documents and all applications. Use the Page Setup command on the File menu to set paper orientation for individual views and reports.

3. Click OK to get to the next step.



4. Clear the Optimize For Performance check box, and click OK twice.
