Article ID: 138689
Article Last Modified on 10/7/2003
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Project 4.0 Standard Edition
- Microsoft Project 4.0 for Macintosh
This article was previously published under Q138689
SYMPTOMS
The default standard and overtime rates change each time you restart
Microsoft Project if the Hours Per Day and Hours Per Week settings are changed to something beside the default of 8 hours and 40 hours and your rates are specified as days or weeks.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because Microsoft Project is recalculating the standard
and overtime rates using the original 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week
even though the defaults have been changed.
RESOLUTION
To prevent the recalculations from occurring, change the default hours per
day to 8 and the hours per week to 40.
NOTE: This problem does not affect rates associated with existing resources. The default standard and overtime rates are used only to determine a newly created resource's rates.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
