SYMPTOMS

When you start any of the Microsoft products listed above, you may receive an error message. If you click the Details button, you receive the following error message
Microsoft <program name> caused an Invalid Page Fault in module <Name>.drv
where <program name> is one of the products listed above and <Name>.drv is the name of a video driver.

RESOLUTION

This error be caused by a reference to a Windows 3.x display driver in the System.ini when you are actually using a Windows 95 display driver. To check for an incorrect reference, do the following:
  1. Click the Start button, and then click Run.
  2. Type the following and press ENTER:

    system.ini

  3. Check the [Boot] section of the System.ini file for a line that contains the following:

    Display.drv=<Name>.drv

    If looks like the above example, change it to the following:

    Display.drv=Pnpdrvr.drv

  4. Check the [386enh] section of the System.ini for the following line.

    Display=*vdd,*vflatd

    If the line is not present, add it.

MORE INFORMATION

When Windows 95 is pre-installed or upgraded from Windows 3.x., there is a slight chance that the Display.drv= line located in the System.ini will not be properly set. If this line is still set to a Windows 3.x video driver, it can cause problems in Microsoft Money 3.0 and 3.0a.
