SYMPTOMS
Lotus Notes v 3.3 can export spreadsheet views and files to a format called
"1 2 3 Worksheet." If you try to open a file in this format in one of the
Word versions listed above, one of the following errors will occur:
This is not a Lotus 1-2-3 formatted document.
The file is not the right file type. (Lotus 1-2-3)
CAUSE
The Lotus Notes v 3.3 "1 2 3 Worksheet" export format exports files in
Lotus 1-2-3 release 1.0A format. Word will convert only Lotus 1-2-3 release
versions 2.0 through 5.0.
WORKAROUND
Use one of the following methods to import the Notes spreadsheet into Word:
Method 1:
For best results, export the spreadsheet in Lotus Notes as a
Microsoft Excel worksheet. Structured Text and Tabular Text are
formats also available for exporting from Notes. Word will be
able to convert all three of these formats.
Method 2:
Export from Notes using the "1 2 3 Worksheet" format. Using
Microsoft Excel, import the spreadsheet, save it as a Microsoft
Excel workbook and then convert to Word.
