SUMMARY

Download VFKB-GEN.EXE, a self-extracting file that contains Knowledge Base (KB) articles about using Visual FoxPro tools, from the Microsoft Software Library (MSL) on the following services:

  • The Microsoft Network 

          On the Edit menu, click Go To, and then click Other Location
      Type mssupport
      Double-click the MS Software Library icon
      Find the appropriate product area
      Download VFKB-GEN.EXE (size: 470409 bytes)
  • Microsoft Download Service (MSDL) 

          Dial (206) 936-6735 to connect to MSDL
      Download VFKB-GEN.EXE (size: 470409 bytes)
  • Internet (anonymous FTP) 

          ftp ftp.microsoft.com
      Change to the Softlib\Mslfiles directory
      Get VFKB-GEN.EXE (size: 470409 bytes)

This Help file works with Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.51 or later.

USING VFKB-GEN.EXE

VFKB-GEN.EXE contains a help file containing Microsoft Visual FoxPro Knowledge Base Articles about general topics.

If you are using Windows 95, double-click VFKB-GEN.EXE to uncompress (extract) it. When uncompressed, this file creates the following files: 

   VFKB-GEN.HLP  The Help file
   VFKB-GEN.CNT  The Contents tab for the Help file
   README.TXT    This file
The .CNT file is used by the help file to create the Contents tab. The Contents tab, the Index tab, and the Find tab are used to navigate in the help file.

If the .CNT file is not in the same directory as the .HLP file, the Contents tab cannot be built. If you move the .HLP file please move the .CNT file along with it.
