SYMPTOMS

The macro specified for a subform control's OnExit property does not run if you exit the control by selecting a control on the main form with the mouse.

The macro runs only if you select another subform control.

CAUSE

To activate the Exit event of a control on a subform, you must select another control on the subform.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.

Create the following new macro and name it Test1:

      Macro Name   Action
      -------------------
      Test1        MsgBox

      Test1 Actions
      -------------
      MsgBox
         Message: Control Test

Open the Product List form in Design view.
Set the Product Name control's OnExit property to the Test1 macro. Save and then close the form.
Open the Categories form in Form view. Select the Product Name field on the subform, and then press ENTER. Note that you receive the message you entered in the Test1 macro.
Select the Product Name field again. Click anywhere on the main form. Note that you do not receive the message you entered in the Test1 macro.
