SideWinder 3D Pro Functions Only as Analog Joystick

SYMPTOMS

Your Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro joystick may function only as an analog joystick.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your computer's bus speed is below 8 MHz.

NOTE: If your computer's bus speed is 8 MHz or higher, make sure the sound or game card installed in your computer is equipped with a speed-compensating game port.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, consult your computer's documentation or your computer manufacturer for information about how to adjust the bus speed of your computer.
