WD: Whole Document Formatted as "No Proofing" When Opened in 2.x |

In Microsoft Word for Windows version 2.x, when you open a document that was created in a later version of Word, you may receive the following message when you run the spelling checker on the document:
In addition, the (no proofing) language property is applied to the entire document.Text formatted with (no proofing) was skipped.
This problem occurs when you use the Msword6.cnv converter to open a Word 6.x or later document that has been formatted for English (US) language.
To work around this problem, use any of the following methods.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Msword6.cnv converter supplied with the later versions of Word.
You may also receive this message if the document contains any one or more of the following language formats:
English (US)You may receive this message when you convert to Word 2.x format either by saving the document in 2.x format from a later version of Word or by using the Msword6.cnv converter to open the document in Word 2.x.
