SUMMARY
In Word for Windows 2.x, if you are in Normal view and you choose
Header/Footer from the View menu, you are prompted with a dialog box. Once
you specify header or footer, Word displays the header or footer pane in a
split screen. In Word 6.x and 7.x, if you choose Header and Footer, the
document switches to page layout view and displays the header with the
document dimmed.
This article describes how to get the Word 2.x functionality in Word 6.x
and 7.x for Windows and Word 6.x for the Macintosh. In order to display the
dialog box the way it is displayed in Word 2.x, use one of the following
macros:
- If you are using Word 6.x for Windows, Word 6.x for Windows NT, or
Word 7.x for Windows 95, use the Word2ViewHeaderFooter macro from the
Supplemental Macros for Word for Windows 6.0 Application Note.
- If you are using Word 6.x for either Windows or Macintosh, use the
NormalViewHeaderFooter macro from the Word 6.x Macros template.
