SYMPTOMS

When you create a picture of the Gantt Chart to paste into another application, the image created is too large and the right boundary of the picture is cut off. Typically, the timescale portion of the picture will be about half the normal time-span or in some cases nearly missing.

CAUSE

If the Gantt Chart divider bar (the line which separates the timescale and table portion of the view) resides on the boundary of a zero-width field, the copied picture is incorrect.

RESOLUTION

You can work around this problem with one of the following methods:
  • Method 1: Remove the zero-width column from your table.
  • Method 2: Set the zero-width column to a value greater than zero. You can move the Gantt Chart divider bar to hide the column in question.
  • Method 3: Completely display the next non-zero width column (to the right side of the zero-width column) by moving the Gantt Chart divider bar.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
