WD: GP Fault Importing Word 5.x for the Macintosh Documents

SYMPTOMS

When you use Internet Assistant to open a Word version 5.x for the Macintosh document, you may receive an invalid page error or a general protection (GP) fault.


CAUSE

You have installed a beta version of Internet Assistant 2.0, dated January 25, 1996, or earlier.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, version 2.0z, dated January 25, 1996, or earlier. This problem has been corrected in the version dated January 31, 1996.


RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, install the latest version of Internet Assistant. For information about where you can obtain the latest version of Internet Assistant, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
