XL97: Crash on Exit After Terminating DDE Connection |

SUMMARY
SYMPTOMS
When you exit Microsoft Excel, the program may terminate with an
Application Error or an Invalid Page Fault.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
- An open Excel workbook contains real-time DDE links to a DDE server
program.
-and-
- The workbook contains one or more Visual Basic for Applications
procedures.
-and-
- The workbook window was hidden when the workbook was opened.
-and-
- You made the workbook visible.
-and-
- The DDE connection to the DDE server is terminated.
RESOLUTION
A hotfix for this problem has been developed for Premier customers. The
hotfix has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only
to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless the customer is
severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that
the customer waits for the next Service Release that contains this fix
or the next release of the product.
Distribution of the hotfix requires DTA Product Lead approval. To
receive the hotfix, customers must be encountering the bug as described
above. You must track the customers you send this to and supply them
with the next Service Pack when it becomes available. The new file names
