SYMPTOMS

When you print an envelope to the Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 850c/855c from Works, you receive one of the following errors messages:

Works 3.0:

The page size and orientation settings for your printer do not match the page size settings in your document.

Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a:

The document and printer settings do not match. Continue Anyway?

NOTE: If you click Continue, the envelope prints correctly.

This error message occurs if you are using version 7.0, 7.1 or 8.0 of the DeskJet 850c/855c printer driver.

RESOLUTION

To avoid this error message, do the following:

On the File menu in Works, click Page Setup.
Select the Source, Size and Orientation Tab.
Set the Paper Source to Default Tray.

NOTE: By default, the Paper Source is set to In Tray.
