IA: White Text on White Background Converting Table to HTML |
Q145912
When you convert a Word document that contains a table that includes white text on a color background, the background color (BGCOLOR) is converted to white. As a result, your table contains white text on a white background. This problem occurs when you use the Table AutoFormat command to format your table or when you use the Table Wizard.
By design, the AutoFormat command and the Table Wizard apply a white background color with a dark foreground color to the table. The HTML converter does not interpret the foreground color; it only converts the background color. As a result, you get white text on a white background.
To work around this problem, do one of the following:
Method 1. After you convert the document, reapply a background to the
table or change the color of the text.
Method 2. Before you convert the document, remove, and then reapply, the
shading and font color. Instead of using the Table AutoFormat
command, apply the shading using the Borders And Shading
command on the Format menu, and apply the font color using the
Font command on the Format menu.
