SYMPTOMS

The network telesystems PPP/SLIP virtual device driver is not
installed, so the networking telesystems TCP driver will not be loaded.
- VTCPRACT
Neither the Network Telesystems nor the Shiva PPP/SLIP virtual device
driver is installed.
CAUSE
These error messages can occur if an incomplete set of third-party
networking drivers is installed.
RESOLUTION
To work around these error messages, disable the following three lines in
the [386Enh] section of the System.ini file in the Windows folder:
Device=<path>Vntstimd.exe
Device=<path>Vntspsd.386
Device=<path>Vtcprac.386
To disable a line in the System.ini file, place a semicolon (;) at the
beginning of the line.
NOTE: This also applies for the files "vntstimd.exe" and "dial.386" which are contained in the same section [386Enh].
