SYMPTOMS

When you insert an Easy Text selection that has an Easy Format applied to it, the paragraph formatting associated with the Easy Format is not applied.

For example, if you try to apply the Contemporary masthead Easy Format (Arial 24, Bold, Auto Color, Center Aligned, Line Spacing 0.5 li, Space After 12pt, Double Auto Border), to an Easy Text selection, the entry is inserted into the document with only the Arial 24, Bold and Auto Color attributes.

This occurs if the Easy Text does not contain a paragraph marker.

RESOLUTION

Place a paragraph marker within the Easy Text contents. To place the paragraph marker, do the following:

  1. On the Insert menu, point to Easy Text, and then click More Easy Texts.
  2. Select the Easy Text you want to edit, and click Change.
  3. Place your cursor at the end of the Easy Text contents and press your keyboard ENTER key.
  4. Click Done.
  5. Click Close.

MORE INFORMATION

You can format a Works Easy Text entry using one of Work's pre-defined Easy Formats, or a newly created Easy Format. When the Easy Text entry is inserted into a Word Processing document, the Easy Format attributes should be applied.

If the Easy Text contents do not contain a paragraph marker, Works can't apply the paragraph formatting of the Easy Format.
