IA: Clearing WYSIWYG Column Widths Doesn't Change Column Width

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

The Width Of Column 1 setting is not cleared or does not change even though you clicked to clear the WYSIWYG Column Widths check box.


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do one of the following:

Method 1:

In the "Cell Width And Spacing" dialog box, click to select the Automatically Sized option.
Method 2:
In the "Cell Width And Spacing" dialog box, clear the measurement in the Width Of Column 1 box.
Method 3:
Delete the blue, underlined asterisk (*) in the left cell of the table.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, version 2.0z. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
