SUMMARY
Microsoft Exchange has a feature that allows users to access other user's
mailboxes. The owner of the mailbox can grant permission to access only a
certain folder or the entire mailbox. However, the owner must grant Read
items permission on their mailbox to allow other users to access their
mailbox and folders. This is by product design.
If a user has been given permission to access a folder, but not Read items
permission on the mailbox, they will see the following error message when
they try to access the folder:
The set of folders could not be opened. You do not have sufficient
permission to perform this operation on this object. See the folder
contact or your system administrator.
