SYMPTOMS

If you give another user the custom permission to modify tasks and you make a recurring task, and then the other user modifies an instance of your recurring task, that user is shown as the creator of the modified instance of the recurring task.

CAUSE

This is by design and is intended to show you who has modified your recurring task.
