All Internet Shortcuts Open the Getting on the Internet Title

SYMPTOMS

After you reinstall MSN, The Microsoft Network, clicking any Internet shortcut may open the Getting On The Internet MediaView title.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Double-click My Computer.

  2. On the View menu, click Options.

  3. Click the File Types tab.

  4. In the Registered File Types box, click Internet Shortcut.

  5. Click Edit.

  6. In the Actions box, click Open, and then click Edit.

  7. In the Application Used To Perform Action box, type the following text:

          rundll32.exe url.dll,OpenURL
    

  8. Click OK or Close until you return to Windows.
