SYMPTOMSIn the versions of Microsoft Excel listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive an error message when trying to access one of the Microsoft Excel add-ins if you use the Diskfit backup utility. The following is an example of the error message you may receive when trying to use the View Manager add-in
Cannot find 'Macintosh HD:[PBPrograms]:Microsoft Office: Microsoft Excel 5:Macro Library: [View Manager] Views xlm'! mcp01.ShowViews.'where the path name to the file contains a folder with brackets around it. In this example the folder is PBPrograms, which is the location of the Microsoft Office folder.
MORE INFORMATIONDiskfit is a backup utility for the Macintosh that uses brackets to designate which folders are not to be backed up. This is a problem when accessing files that are stored in these folders because Microsoft Excel uses brackets to differentiate a workbook from a worksheet.
