SUMMARY
This article describes where the log files are located when you include the
logging options associated with Mail 3.x EXTERNAL.EXE (LogSession,
LogReceive and LogSent). These options are included in both the MS-DOS and
Microsoft Windows NT versions of EXTERNAL.EXE.
You can use the options from the command line or in the .INI file as
described in the Microsoft Mail for PC Networks "Administrator's Guide" by
either specifying the full path and file names or with no path and file
names. However, if you only specify the log's file name, the location may
not be obvious.
When you log multiple sessions or instances of the mail transfer agent
(MTA), you may want to create logs with separate names for each instance or
session for the purpose of troubleshooting.
