SUMMARY

When you use the Grade Book TaskWizard in Works, you may notice the assignment name on the Class Summary row (row 4 of the Standard and Modified Grade Books) contains numbers instead of names or dates.

This happens if you place assignment dates on the Assignments line of the spreadsheet (row 10 in the Standard Grade Book; row 14 in the Modified Grade Book) instead of assignment titles. The Class Summary row has a General format, dates appear as serial numbers.

MORE INFORMATION

You can remedy this behavior by doing one of the following:

  • Type descriptive text such as the assignment name, in addition to the assignment date, in the Assignment cells.

    -or-

  • Format the Assignment row as Text (row 10 in the Standard Grade Book; row 14 in the Modified Grade Book).

    -or-

  • On the Class Summary row, format Assignment cells as Date.
NOTE: If you choose to reformat either the Assignment row or Class Summary row, you must first turn off Protection. The Grade Book TaskWizard turns Protection on by default. After disabling Protection and reformatting the desired cells, you can turn Protection back on.
