SYMPTOMS

If you cut a field entry in Form View after applying a query, each successive record will have that field entry deleted until the next record from the query is found. If no other records match the criteria, then all successive records have the entry cut.

For example, A query on the name John matches records 2, 3, 9, and 15. If you click on the name John in Form View in record 3, then click Cut, the entries in that field in records 4-8 will be removed as well. If the name is cut from the Form View of record 15, all successive records will have that entry removed.

WORKAROUND

Use Cut from List View after applying your query.

-or-

Use Clear Field Entry, rather than Cut.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works for Windows version 3.0. This problem was corrected in Works versions 4.0 and later.
